Mahweet: Governor Hanin Qatina on Tuesday inspected the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Office in Mahweet to assess its administrative and technical performance, ongoing programs, and service delivery to farmers. During the visit, the governor listened to staff briefings on current projects, challenges, and needs to improve performance.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Qatina emphasized the office's critical role in supporting the national economy, expanding strategic crop cultivation, reducing imports, and achieving self-sufficiency. He highlighted the importance of organized coordination with agricultural cooperatives across districts to boost sustainable development and increase production.
Governor Qatina reviewed a locally designed coffee-drying model by the Al-Madina Cooperative, praising it as an example of community-driven innovation. He called for adopting and scaling such initiatives, encouraging local industries to improve coffee quality and market value.
The governor stressed the need for continuous monitoring, resource optimization, and integrated efforts with universities and cooperatives to advance comprehensive agricultural development in the governorate.
