Maqbana: The 76th free eye surgery camp in the Maqbana district of Taiz governorate witnessed the successful completion of 174 surgeries, as organized by the Health Care Association for Affected Communities.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Nashwan Al-Attab, head of the association, revealed that the camp was held at Hajdah Rural Hospital and was funded by the General Authority for Zakat. Over the course of four days, the medical team performed 144 cataract surgeries and 30 pterygium excisions. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Environment and its office in the governorate.
The primary objective of the camp was to alleviate the burden on patients from impoverished families by providing medical services to 1,100 individuals. Dr. Al-Attab emphasized the camp's role in promoting social solidarity and charity for the most vulnerable groups. He also acknowledged the humanitarian efforts of the General Authority for Zakat, appreciating their support in making the camp a success.
