Hodeida: Women across the city and several districts held large-scale rallies on Friday, organized by the Women's Authority, to denounce the U.S. insult to the Holy Qur'an and affirm commitment to Islam and its sacred sites.
According to Yemen News Agency, the rallies took place in public squares at schools and various districts, including Ammar School in Hodeida city, Al-Khansa in Bajil, Khawla in Al-Jarahi, 22 May in Al-Meghlaf, and other locations in Bayt al-Faqih, Al-Durayhimi, and Jabal Ras.
Participants carried the Qur'an and banners expressing their rejection of any disrespect, emphasizing their religious identity and moral stance. The women condemned the act by a U.S. political figure as part of a systematic campaign targeting Islam and Muslims, linking it to broader aggressions by Israel, backed by the U.S. and Britain. They stressed that insults to the Qur'an are an attack on the Muslim nation as a whole and vowed not to tolerate them.
The statement reaffirmed support for the Palestinian people, highlighted the role of women in raising awareness, and urged continued boycotts of U.S. and Israeli products, calling on the Islamic and Arab world to actively oppose aggression and defend sacred values.
