Taiz: The free medical camp for inmates of the Central Prison in Taiz Governorate has commenced. The medical camp, organized by the General Military Hospital in the governorate and funded by the General Authority for Zakat, includes providing medical examinations and tests, distributing medications, and performing surgeries for cases requiring urgent medical intervention.
According to Yemen News Agency, Bashir al-Dhubyani, Director of the Banking Department at the Zakat Authority office in the governorate, explained that the medical camp represents a significant step towards enhancing healthcare within the correctional facility. It offers comprehensive services under the supervision of the medical staff from the General Military Hospital in Taiz, aiming to improve the health of inmates and alleviate their suffering.
He noted that the camp, which will benefit 250 inmates, is part of the charitable projects for the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. He added that the Authority continues to implement health and humanitarian initiatives that directly meet the needs of beneficiaries and embody the values of social solidarity and the objectives of Zakat in serving the most vulnerable groups. For his part, Ahmed Abdel-Ghani, the director of the central prison in the governorate, praised this humanitarian initiative, commending the efforts of the leadership of the authority in supporting the health sector within the prison and the positive impact the camp has on the care of sick inmates.
