Meeting Discusses Comprehensive Plan for Developing & Localizing Yemen’s Gold Industry & Trade

Beirut: The Committee for Preparing the Comprehensive Plan for the Development and Localization of the Gold Industry and Trade in Yemen discussed, during its meeting today chaired by Assistant Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals for Mineral Affairs Dr. Yahya Al-A'ajam, a number of issues related to the committee's work and mechanisms for implementing its tasks during the coming phase.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by committee members, focused on defining the duties and responsibilities assigned to members in a way that contributes to organizing workflow and unifying efforts to achieve the objectives of preparing an integrated plan for developing the gold sector and enhancing its role in supporting the national economy.

During the meeting, copies of the preliminary draft plan prepared by the Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority were distributed to committee members for review and detailed study, as well as enrichment through proposals and ideas that would contribute to its development and presentation in a comprehensive form that meets the sector's requirements and keeps pace with investment and development opportunities.

Dr. Al-A'ajam stressed the importance of concerted efforts by committee members to ensure the preparation of an integrated strategic plan that would contribute to developing and localizing the gold industry and trade in the Republic of Yemen, enhancing the added value of mineral resources, and increasing the level of benefit from them on both the economic and developmental levels.
