Meeting Focuses on Road Maintenance Projects in Ibb City

Ibb: A meeting in Ibb Governorate, chaired by Governor Abdulwahid Salah, discussed today the implementation plan for road maintenance and rehabilitation projects in the districts of the governorate center, aimed at improving infrastructure and upgrading services provided to citizens.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by the Secretary-General of the Local Council Amin Al-Warafi, Deputy Governor Dr. Ashraf Al-Mutawakkil, Head of the Technical Committee Engineer Essam Al-Makhadri, Directors of the Public Works and Roads Offices Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, the Executive Unit for Road Projects Engineer Khaled Al-Salahi, and Dhihar District Director Fadel Zaid, reviewed the progress of filling and repairing potholes and addressing damage in several streets. The discussions covered the level of achievement and the necessary technical treatments to ensure speed of execution and quality of work.

Governor Salah emphasized the importance of redoubling efforts and completing maintenance projects according to technical specifications and specified timelines to ensure the improvement of the road network and facilitate the movement of citizens and vehicles. He stressed the need to enhance coordination among relevant authorities to overcome any difficulties that may hinder implementation.

He pointed out that road maintenance is a service priority due to its direct impact on improving traffic safety, preserving infrastructure, and limiting road deterioration. He affirmed that the governorate leadership will continuously follow up on the level of achievement to ensure optimal use of available resources and meet citizens' needs.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Local Council explained that the implementation of road maintenance projects comes within the local authority's plan to improve the level of basic services. He highlighted the importance of integrating efforts of executive and technical bodies to ensure the completion of works with efficiency and high quality, contributing to enhancing traffic flow and maintaining the sustainability of the road network in service of local development.
