Al-Sukhnah: A meeting in the al-Sukhnah district of Hodeida province governorate, led by Governorate Undersecretary Amer Muthanna, was convened to evaluate the current state of religious endowments and explore strategies for boosting their revenues.
According to Yemen News Agency, the gathering brought together district and security directors, alongside the director of endowments, to address challenges and potential improvements in the management of endowments. Central to the discussions were efforts to activate donor wills and ensure that endowment funds are directed towards Sharia-compliant purposes. Additionally, the participants examined unresolved legal cases concerning endowment properties.
The meeting also laid out plans for conducting a field visit aimed at inventorying and surveying endowment lands. This initiative seeks to address ongoing issues and facilitate the official registration of properties.
Deputy Governor Muthanna underscored the significance of safeguarding endowment assets, monitoring beneficiaries, and ensuring that the legal status of endowment properties adheres to existing regulations. He called for increased collaboration among relevant authorities to protect and optimally invest endowments, highlighting their potential as a sustainable development and charitable resource for society.
The meeting also saw participation from representatives of the Endowments Authority, Legal Affairs, and the Land Authority.
