Bani qais: A meeting was held in Bani Qais District, Hajja Governorate, to discuss the role of the sports sector in celebrating the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) birthday for the year 1447 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by the Director of the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office, Murad Shalhi, the District Director, Muhammad Al-Shahari, Deputy Director of Administrative Development and Training in the governorate, Hassan Al-Mahbashi, along with representatives and players from 16 district teams. The focus was on the athletes' role in appropriately commemorating the Prophet's birthday.
Participants highlighted the importance of diversifying awareness, cultural, sports, and youth programs within the sports sector's activities to mark this significant religious occasion and to strengthen the connection to the Prophet across all areas of the district.
The Prophet's birthday was noted as a unifying occasion and an educational, cultural, and youth-focused season, filled with activities aimed at enhancing awareness, insight, resilience, steadfastness, good conduct, and morals, while reflecting reverence and honor for the Seal of the Prophets.
Following the meeting, which involved local, social, and executive figures, a match was held as part of the district's Prophet's Birthday Championship. In this match, Al-Hurriya Team faced Shabab Al-Tur Team, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
