Sana'a: A meeting held on Wednesday in Sana'a, chaired by Dr. Amin Qubas, Head of the Supreme Board of Drugs, Medical Supplies and Equipment, discussed mechanisms for cooperation with importers of medical equipment and supplies to secure the needs of health facilities, as well as joint roles in ensuring adequate pharmaceutical stock.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by Deputy Head of the Board Dr. Mohammed Al-Nuaimi and importers of medicines and medical supplies, addressed the challenges facing importers and ways to resolve them within the framework of effective partnership between the public and private sectors, including the provision of facilities and incentives for importers.
During the meeting, the Head of the Supreme Board of Drugs praised the efforts of drug importers and traders in covering and supplying medicines to the market despite the current conditions facing the country.
He noted the Board's commitment to facilitating the difficulties encountered by drug importers to ensure the availability of safe and effective medicines.
Dr. Qubas affirmed that the meeting reflects the active partnership between the public and private sectors in providing medicines as part of efforts to secure pharmaceutical stock, stressing the need for all parties to assume national responsibility in ensuring the availability of medicines and medical supplies in a way that benefits both importers and patients.
