Sana'a: A meeting in Sana'a today, led by Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Ammar Al-Karim, centered on organizing a report detailing the accomplishments of the agriculture and fisheries sectors since the 21 September 2014 revolution.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which included several ministry leaders, examined the approach for creating the annual report. This report aims to highlight the transformations and achievements in these sectors over the years, particularly in areas such as increased production, vertical expansion, value chain development, and the promotion of local production.
The attendees also considered a proposal to host an accompanying exhibition to display the achievements of the agriculture and fisheries sectors. This exhibition would feature models of agricultural and fisheries products, local manufacturing, and reverse engineering experiences, such as agricultural production equipment and inputs like sieves, seeders, supplies, and local pesticides. Additionally, it would showcase value-added products.
The meeting underscored the exhibition's role in presenting practical examples of the development of local production and value chains. It highlighted the need to demonstrate the sector's progress since the 21 September revolution, with models of crops like wheat, dates, pomegranate, apple, and mango.
During the meeting, the Acting Minister of Agriculture emphasized the necessity for the report to be completed with accuracy and professionalism. He stressed the importance of showcasing the significant successes achieved and reflecting the efforts to advance the agriculture and fisheries sectors. Additionally, he called for the swift completion of the report, the establishment of a preparatory committee for the exhibition, and the examination of suitable options for its location and organization, ensuring it effectively represents the achievements in these vital economic sectors in Yemen.
