Sana'a: Mohamed Mathna, Deputy Minister of Finance for Revenue Affairs, met on Wednesday with Dr. Fawzi Al-Saghir, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources for the Fisheries Sector. The meeting discussed the work progress at the Agricultural and Fisheries Information Systems Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, focusing on the center's performance in enhancing data management, linking it to resources and revenues.
According to Yemen News Agency, the discussion also covered the roles and activities of the Fisheries Sector and the Information Systems Center, highlighting their part in organizing fisheries activities and improving monitoring and oversight of marine resources. This contributes to higher performance and efficiency in revenue management.
The deputies listened to a detailed presentation by engineer Ibrahim Al-Asi, a specialist at the Agricultural and Fisheries Information Systems Center, on the mechanisms for data collection and analysis. The presentation emphasized the importance of unifying databases and linking them with the financial system to allow accurate monitoring of fisheries resources and facilitate information flow among relevant authorities.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Finance emphasized the importance of integration between the two sectors. He noted that linking field activities with revenue data contributes to improved efficiency and strengthens public resources in line with the state's plans for resource management and sustainability.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries stressed the commitment to partnership and coordination with the Finance Ministry's Revenue Sector. He noted that the Agricultural and Fisheries Information Systems Center is working to develop an integrated data system for agricultural and fisheries information to enhance transparency and improve decision-making regarding production and revenue activities.
