Sana'a: The Joint Coordination Unit (JCU) of regulatory agencies and public prosecution convened under the leadership of Raydan Al-Mutawakel, the Acting Head of the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission (SNACC). The meeting, which was aimed at addressing key issues, attracted significant attention due to the participation of several notable officials.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included members of the unit, the Attorney General of Public Funds Prosecutions, Judge Ali Al-Mutawakel, a member of the Supreme Authority for Tender Control, Amin Al-Jund, and the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Finance and Civil Service and Administrative Development, Mohammed Amer and Dr. Abdullah Haider. Central to the discussions was a report concerning a shipment of adulterated gasoline, which has allegedly caused damage to numerous vehicles owned by citizens. The report also detailed the measures taken by the Supreme National Anti-Corruption Commission, Attorney General of Public Funds Prosecutions, Security and Intelligence Service, and Public Funds Investigation.
The meeting concluded with a decision for the Joint Coordination Unit to maintain a state of continuous follow-up until the investigation procedures are completed. This step is crucial to assess the full extent of the damage caused by the adulterated gasoline. Additionally, the meeting assigned the sub-coordination unit the task of coordinating with the Public Funds Prosecution, which specializes in corruption cases, to finalize the procedures and report the findings.
