Meteorological Warning: Thundery Rainfall Expected Over Multiple Governorates

Sanaa: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expects scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity over a number of governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the Center predicts moderate to heavy thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by strong downdraft winds and occasional hail, over the governorates of Hadramout, Shabwah, Al Bayda, Abyan, Aden, Lahj, Al Dhale'e, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Al Mahwit, and Hajjah, as well as parts of the Tihama Plain and the western coast.

Scattered rains accompanied by thunder are also anticipated over Al Mahrah Governorate and western parts of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, and Dhamar.

The Center has issued warnings to citizens about the risk of sudden flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising against being present in their paths during and after rainfall. Drivers are urged to avoid crossing low-lying bridges during floods.

Warnings are also in place for reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rainfall and fog formation, as well as thunderstorms. The public is advised to avoid elevated areas, metal structures, tall trees, and the use of mobile phones, and to disconnect the electricity supply and stay away from water to safeguard lives.

The Center has called on the relevant authorities to take appropriate measures to preserve lives and property.
