Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered thunderstorms across several governorates within the next 24 hours. According to Yemen News Agency, a weather bulletin issued by the center warns of thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by downdraft winds, expected in the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, Al-Dhalea, Dhamar, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah, including parts of the Tihama Plain.
Scattered rain with thunder is also likely over parts of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Al-Bayda, and Shabwah, as well as the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Hadramout, and Al-Mahrah, and parts of the western coast. The center has issued warnings to citizens about the sudden flow of flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising against being present in their paths during and after rainfall. Drivers are cautioned not to cross ground-level bridges during floods.
Additionally, the center has warned of reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rainfall and fog, as well as the potential dangers of thunderstorms. People are advised to avoid high places, metal structures, and tall trees, refrain from using mobile phones, disconnect the electricity supply, and stay away from water to ensure safety.
The center also urged relevant authorities to take necessary measures to protect lives and property.
