Meteorology Expects Thunderstorms, Sea Rage Over Next 24 Hours

Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning anticipates rain of varying intensity across several governorates, along with sea turbulence around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts due to active and strong winds over the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center explained in its weather bulletin today that rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected over parts of the governorates of Bayda, Dhale'a, Ibb, Taiz, and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwah. Scattered thunderstorms are also expected over parts of the governorates of Saada, Sana'a, Mahwit, Hajjah, Dhamar, Hadhramaut, Mahrah, and Socotra, with winds expected to be active to strong around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.

The center reported that over the past 24 hours, the amount of rainfall at some meteorological stations reached significant levels, with Ibb Governorate - As-Saddah recording 44.6 and Taiz Governorate 5.2. Scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity also occurred outside the scope of meteorological stations in parts of the governorates of Dhale'a, Bayda, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran, Saada, Hadramaut - Sayun, Abyan, Lahj, and Al Mahrah.

The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has issued warnings for citizens in areas expected to experience rainfall of thunderstorms and potential torrents during and after the rainfall. Additionally, it has advised seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains to be cautious of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.
