Meteorology Forecasts More Thundery Rainfall Over Several Governorates

Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast more thundery rainfall of varying intensity and scattered over parts of several governorates during the next 24 hours. According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center predicts thunderstorms of varying intensity accompanied by hail and downdraft winds over parts of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhalea, Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, Amran, Saada, and the Tihama Plain and Coast. Scattered rain accompanied by thunder at times may fall over the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Al-Bayda, as well as over parts of the highlands and deserts of the governorates of Al-Mahrah, Hadramout, Shabwah, Marib, and Al-Jawf. The center has warned citizens of sudden flash floods in ravines and valleys, cautioning against being in their paths or attempting to cross them during and after rainfall. It also highlighted the dangers of thunderstorms, hail, and strong downdraft winds, advising citizens to avoid high places and stay clear of electrical towers and tall trees. Furthermore, the center recommended making optimal use of the rainfall for purposes such as irrigating crops, storing it for household use, and replenishing wells and groundwater.
