Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a forecast predicting scattered thunderstorms across various governorates, with expectations of rough seas due to strong winds over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that thunderstorms with varying intensity, potentially accompanied by hail, are anticipated in parts of Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, western Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Dhale'a, Bayda, and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwah. Additionally, scattered rain, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is expected in regions such as Saada, Jawf, Marib, Hodeida, Hadhramaut, Al Mahrah, and the Tihama Plain.
The center has highlighted strong to very strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and along the eastern and southern coasts. Recent rainfall measurements at meteorological stations include 14 mm in Ibb, 6.6 mm in Mahweet, 4.1 mm in Raymah, 3.6 mm in Dhamar, 3.5 mm in Hodeida, 2.4 mm in Bayda, and 2.3 mm in Shabwa. Scattered rains also fell on parts of Saada, Hajjah, Jawf, Marib, Sana'a, Taiz, Abyan, Lahj, Aden, Hadramaut, and Mahrah, though these areas were outside the stations' range.
The center has issued warnings to citizens about potential thunderstorms and the hazards of crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall, as well as mudslides and rockfalls on mountain roads. Seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains have also been cautioned against rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the southern and eastern coasts.
