Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expects scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity over parts of several governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center stated in its weather bulletin that thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by downdraft winds and possibly hail, are likely over parts of the governorates of Al Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Al Mahwit, and Sana'a, as well as parts of the Tihama Plain.

Scattered rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is expected over parts of the highlands of the governorates of Hadramout, Shabwah, Abyan, Al Bayda, and Lahj, as well as the western coasts.

The center warned citizens of the sudden flow of floods in ravines and valleys and against being in their paths during and after rainfall. It advised drivers not to cross low-water bridges during floods.

It also warned of thunderstorms and advised avoiding elevated areas, trees, and metal structures that may attract lightning, refraining from using mobile phones, disconnecting electrical power, and staying away from water, to preserve lives.

It further warned of reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rainfall and the formation of fog.
