Meteorology Predicts Scattered Rainfall and Potential Hail Across Governorates

Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered rainfall of varying intensity over parts of several governorates over the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center stated in its weather bulletin that rainfall, some of which may be accompanied by hail, is expected over parts of the governorates of Sa'dah, Amran, Hajjah, Sana'a, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Dhale'a, and Bayda.

Scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are also likely over parts of the governorates of Jawf, Ma'rib, Mahwit, Raymah, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadhramaut, Mahrah, the Tihama plain and coast, and the corresponding inland areas. These weather conditions call for increased vigilance among the residents.

The amount of rainfall measured at meteorological stations in various locations was reported: As-Saddah, Ibb, received 11.2 mm, Ataq 9 mm, Bayda 6.6 mm, Al Ma'afir, Taiz 5.4 mm, Hadhramaut 4 mm, Sana'a 3.5 mm, and Raymah 2.1 mm. Varying amounts of rainfall also fell on parts of the interior plateaus and the Tihama plain.

The center has issued warnings to citizens regarding the dangers of thunderstorms, crossing or being in floodwaters during and after rainfall, rockfalls and mudslides on mountain roads, and reduced horizontal visibility due to rainfall, low clouds, and fog.
