Meteorology Predicts Thunderstorms and High Temperatures in Yemen

Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast thunderstorms over the mountainous highlands and hot to extremely hot weather in the deserts, plateaus, and coastal plains over the next 24 hours. According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center predicts thunderstorms in parts of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Dhamar, Al Mahwit, and Hajjah. Scattered rain, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is also expected over regions including Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Al Dhale'a, and the highlands of Hodeida, Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwa. Meanwhile, the deserts, inland plateaus, and coastal plains may experience hot to extremely hot conditions with maximum temperatures ranging from 35 to 41 degrees Celsius. The center has issued warnings to citizens in the mountainous highlands about the possibility of flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising against being present in or crossing these areas during and after rainfall. Additionally, it has cautioned residents of the de serts, inland plateaus, and coastal plains about the risks of hot weather, recommending avoidance of direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours.
