Meteorology Predicts Thunderstorms and Scattered Rainfall Across Governorates

Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast thunderstorms of varying intensity and scattered rainfall over parts of several governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center indicates that thunderstorms of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by hail and downdraft winds, are likely over parts of the governorates of Al-Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, Amran, and Saada, in addition to parts of the Tihama Plain and the western coasts.

Scattered rainfall with thunder is also expected over parts of the highlands and deserts of Al-Mahrah and Hadramout governorates, as well as the highlands of Shabwah, Abyan, Al-Bayda, and Lahj.

The center has issued warnings to citizens about the sudden flow of flash floods in valleys and ravines, advising against crossing them or being in their paths. Additionally, there are cautions regarding the dangers posed by thunderstorms, hail, and strong downdraft winds, with advice to avoid elevated areas and proximity to towers and tall trees.

Warnings have also been issued about the risk of rockfalls and mudslides, particularly on slopes and mountain roads, as well as the potential collapse of traditional mud buildings and forts due to the ongoing rainfall.
