Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning reported that a state of relative atmospheric instability will begin affecting the eastern and southern coasts, southern and southwestern highlands and plateaus during the coming hours, expanding over the next two days to the inland areas, western highlands and the Tihama Plain. According to Yemen News Agency, the Center expected varying-intensity thunderstorms, occasionally accompanied by hail and downdraft winds, over the governorates of Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, Aden, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramout and Al Mahrah, as well as southern parts of the Tihama Plain and the western coast. Scattered rains, occasionally accompanied by thunder, may fall over parts of the governorates of Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Dhamar and Raymah, as well as Socotra Archipelago. The Center warned citizens and vehicle drivers against being present in valley bottoms and flood channels, thunderstorms, soil erosion and rockfalls, and urged them to stay away from unstable slopes. It also warned o f downdraft winds and hail, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain highlands due to dense clouds, rainfall and the formation of fog.
