Sanaa: Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, and Chairman of the Military Committee Major General Yahya Al-Razami, alongside several other ministers and deputy ministers, received prisoners liberated from Saudi enemy prisons on the western coast. The prisoners were freed during the military operation dubbed 'Allah is Stronger in Might and More Severe in Punishment'.
According to Yemen News Agency, the reception was marked by high-level attendance, including members of Parliament, the Shura Council, and military and security leaders. During a press conference, Acting Prime Minister Miftah congratulated the prisoners on their liberation, emphasizing that it was achieved without a prisoner exchange deal or negotiations. He expressed gratitude for the efforts of the heroes who secured the victory and extended congratulations to the families of the liberated prisoners, while also noting the broader significance of this victory for the Yemeni people in their ongoing struggle.
Miftah also criticized the Saudi regime for obstructing a previously agreed-upon prisoner exchange deal, accusing it of criminal behavior and holding it accountable for the ongoing suffering in Yemen. He declared that Yemen is ready for peace, provided it is honorable and respects the rights of the Yemeni people, and called on the Saudi regime to acknowledge its responsibility for the conflict and its consequences.
Chairman of the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs Abdulqader Al-Murtada expressed his joy at the release of 210 prisoners, who had been part of a previously stalled exchange deal. He explained that the prisoners were freed as a result of a military operation and not through the delayed diplomatic efforts. He highlighted the courage and resilience of the prisoners, particularly mentioning Abdulghani Al-Hamali, who remained steadfast despite his captivity.
Al-Murtada also addressed the failure of the opposing side to fulfill their part of the prisoner exchange agreement, pointing out their reluctance to clarify the fate of missing persons and to add certain prisoners to the exchange list. He reiterated the committee's readiness to implement the deal and appealed to international organizations to pressure the other side to comply with the agreed terms.
