Amran: A meeting at Al-Shaheed President Al-Samad Hospital Authority in Amran Governorate, chaired by Governor Dr. Faisal Jamaan, discussed mechanisms for cooperation and coordination between the hospital and the Yemeni Red Crescent Society branch.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing support for the hospital, including the provision of necessary medical equipment and supplies to improve healthcare services. Participants reviewed the society's past and ongoing projects, as well as future intervention plans, with a particular focus on support for CT scanning services to strengthen the hospital's diagnostic capabilities.
The discussions also included the Red Crescent's plan to support a solar power project at the hospital. This initiative aims to ensure a stable power supply and reduce operational costs related to electricity and fuel consumption. Governor Jamaan praised the Yemeni Red Crescent's efforts to support the health sector, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination among the society, local authorities, and health institutions. He highlighted that strengthening the health sector remains a priority amid challenges caused by the Saudi-led aggression and ongoing blockade.
In addition, the Red Crescent executive director affirmed the society's commitment to expanding cooperation and providing support within available resources, particularly in healthcare, infrastructure, and humanitarian services. Hospital Authority Chairman Dr. Abdulghani Fares outlined the hospital's needs and challenges, stressing the importance of support for the solar power project and the provision of medical equipment and supplies to enhance diagnostic and treatment services.
