Sanaa Court of Appeal Reviews Al-Kayyal Couple Murder Case as Death Sentences Await Final Decision

Sanaa: The Second Criminal Chamber of Sanaa Court of Appeal has provided the Public Prosecution and the victims' heirs with an opportunity to respond to appeals in the murder case involving Hisham Al-Kayyal and his wife, Asmaa Al-Dhabibi. The court session, led by Judge Yahya Al-Dhari with the participation of Judges Ahmed Al-Shalif and Taha Noman, was a crucial step in the ongoing legal proceedings.

According to Yemen News Agency, the chamber instructed the prosecution to issue a public notice for the arrest of a fugitive defendant involved in the case. The case includes a total of six defendants, all of whom were previously sentenced to death by firing squad for their involvement in the deliberate killing of the couple. Meanwhile, a seventh defendant in the case was acquitted.

The court's decision to allow responses to the appeals and the pursuit of the fugitive defendant are important developments in the case. The outcome of these proceedings will significantly impact the final decision regarding the death sentences handed down to the defendants.
