Sana'a: The General Authority for Social Insurance and Pensions initiated the distribution of the first half of the August 2021 pension for civilian retirees. This move comes as part of a temporary exceptional mechanism designed to support the state's payroll system.
According to Yemen News Agency, the disbursement process began in accordance with the provisions of Law No. (2) of 1446 AH, ensuring that pension payments are made consistently. Ibrahim al-Haifi, the head of the authority, outlined the plan to conduct 12 pension disbursements annually, aimed at assuring retirees receive their pensions promptly.
Al-Haifi highlighted that this operation is the culmination of intensive efforts and continuous coordination with the Ministers of Finance and Civil Service. The initiative is part of the government's reform and development program, which focuses on ensuring the regular payment of pensions and acknowledges the contributions and service of retirees to the country.
The head of the Social Insurance Authority urged retirees and their representatives to visit postal offices with the necessary documentation to expedite the pension receipt process. He commended the cooperation of relevant parties, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Hashim Ismail, and efforts from the Authority's staff, the Ministries of Finance and Civil Service, the Central Bank, and the Postal Savings Authority, which were instrumental in the successful execution of the pension distribution process.
