Sana'a: The Military Cardiac Center team advanced to the quarterfinals of the ninth Yemeni Telecommunications Football Championship for Companies, organized by the Companies Federation under the sponsorship of Yemen Telecommunications. The team secured second place in Group A after a 5-1 victory over the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in the final group-stage round.
According to Yemen News Agency, Younis Al-Shami scored twice, while Abdulrahman Dawood, Hussam Mushir Al-Haj, and an own goal completed the tally. Abdullah Al-Maqshi scored the Ministry's only goal. The win took the Military Cardiac Center to nine points, ahead of Yemen International Bank on goal difference. Future University, Yemenia Airlines, and the Ministry of Justice were eliminated from the competition.
Group leaders Yemen Telecommunications recorded their fifth consecutive win, defeating Yemenia Airlines 6-1. In Group D, Yemen Kuwait Bank handed leaders the Zakat Authority their first defeat, winning 2-0 through Shahab Jassar's two goals and moving to second place with nine points.
The group stage concludes Wednesday with two matches: the Ministry of Youth and Sports (with 7 points) faces Sana'a Water (with 6 points) for the final quarterfinal spot, while TeleYemen meets the Standards and Metrology Authority to improve their standings.
