Taiz: The 66th free eye surgery camp has commenced at the General Military Hospital in the al-Taezeyah district, located in Taiz province. This initiative is organized by the Association for Health Care for Affected Communities and is funded by the General Authority of Zakat.
According to Yemen News Agency, the camp will operate over a period of six days, during which it aims to offer comprehensive eye care services. This includes conducting medical checkups and performing 200 surgeries, such as cataract removal, pterygium excision, and eyelid cyst removal. The main beneficiaries of this camp are low-income patients residing in Taiz and the surrounding areas.
Dr. Nashwan al-Atab, who leads the association, noted that the initial three days of the camp are dedicated to examinations and pre-surgical assessments. He expressed gratitude for the Zakat Authority's support, which plays a crucial role in alleviating the suffering of citizens amidst ongoing challenges.
