Sana'a: The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qahim, has confirmed that the rehabilitation and preparation of the two runways at Sana'a International Airport, which were recently targeted by the Saudi aggression air force, will be completed within a short period. The reconstruction will adhere to international standards and specifications that are applicable to global airports.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister Qahim stated that the Ministry of Transport and Public Works will begin immediate work on the runways. This action is in line with directives from the President of the Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, to expedite the readiness of the main runway for aircraft operations, including takeoff and landing.
Minister Qahim also mentioned the continuation of civilian flights between Sana'a and Tehran and announced plans to open new international destinations soon. He emphasized that providing services to citizens and facilitating the travel of patients, students, and humanitarian cases are fundamental humanitarian rights for the Yemeni people that will not be overlooked.
He further stressed that the unjust siege and ongoing attacks on vital national infrastructure will be met with a firm response from the Armed Forces. Qahim pointed out that the Yemeni people will not remain passive in the face of the continued blockade of ports and airports and the delays in implementing agreed-upon understandings and the roadmap.
The Minister reiterated the commitment of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, to reclaim the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people and to break the longstanding siege. He also noted that attempts to close the airspace have failed, and the Yemeni tribes and army remain united in their efforts to break the siege and establish national sovereignty.
