Sana’a: The inspection teams of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment, in cooperation with the Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control and the Industry and Commerce Prosecution in the Capital Secretariat, seized a factory producing counterfeit detergent products bearing forged trademarks.
According to Yemen News Agency, the directors of Central Operations and Consumer Protection at the ministry, Najeeb Al Adhari and Abdullah Sharaf, explained that the inspection teams monitored counterfeit detergent products bearing international trademarks. They pointed out that the ministry, in cooperation with relevant authorities and under the supervision and follow-up of the ministry’s leadership, traced the source of those counterfeit products and notified the competent prosecution, which issued orders to seize and close the factory and confiscate the seized quantities.
The directors confirmed that large quantities of body, hair, and laundry detergents were confiscated, along with trademark stickers inside the factory, noting that the case file is now with the prosecution to complete legal procedures.
