Sana'a: The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research announced the opening of admission and registration for gifted students' schools for the first year of secondary education for the academic year 1448 AH corresponding to 2026/2027. The registration period will commence tomorrow, Sunday, and will continue until Thursday, 10 Muharram.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Zaid Al-Hadour, Deputy Minister for the Secondary Education Sector, detailed the admission requirements in a statement. The admission percentage for "Abdulnasser Gifted School" and "Al-Shahid Al-Sammad Gifted School for Girls" in the Capital Secretariat, as well as "Al-Shahid Al-Sammad School" in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, is set at 80 percent and above. Meanwhile, "Al-Shahid Al-Sammad School" in Ibb Governorate and "Al-Shahid Taha Al-Madani School" in Hajjah Governorate require a minimum admission percentage of 75 percent.
Dr. Al-Hadour urged students who have achieved the necessary average in the ninth grade for the academic year 1447 AH and are interested in enrolling to visit the gifted schools' premises. Registration with the admission and registration committees will be available daily from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
He further specified the eligibility criteria, stating that applicants must be Yemeni, under 17 years of age, and must pass an admission exam covering core subjects from the eighth and ninth grades, including Arabic, English, Mathematics, and Sciences, along with an intelligence test.
The required documents for registration include a copy of the ninth-grade result, the seat number, a birth certificate, the original seat number for verification, and two recent 6 cm personal photos.
