Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns European Union’s Sanctions on Hamas and Islamic Jihad

Sana'a: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the European Union Council's decision to expand sanctions on Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry stated that the European decision contradicts certain positive stances from European countries concerning the genocide crimes in Gaza, notably from Spain. It highlighted the protests across European nations and the participation of European activists in the "Global Resilience Fleet" aimed at breaking the Gaza blockade.

The Ministry's statement suggested that the decision reflects the influence of global Zionism over several European countries and the need for European citizens to scrutinize their governments' policies. It emphasized the ongoing suffering in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, citing genocide, daily killings, land occupation, and humanitarian aid restrictions.

The Ministry also noted the European Union Council's decision aligns with Israeli actions in the West Bank, including land occupation, settlement expansion, home demolitions, and daily assaults. These actions coincide with escalated aggression towards Lebanon by Israel.

The statement affirmed that the decision comes amid widespread disregard for international norms by Israel and its allies. It emphasized Yemen's unwavering support for the Palestinian people, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other resistance factions, asserting that international positions will not deter the Palestinian pursuit of their rights.

The Ministry reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and resistance factions, relying on divine assistance to stand by the Palestinian people.
