Sana'a: The Ministry of Public Health and Population has completed all necessary health arrangements and procedures in the squares designated for celebrations of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday in the capital Sana'a and other provinces, to ensure the provision of comprehensive and safe services for all participants in this significant religious occasion.
According to Yemen News Agency, these preparations come as part of a comprehensive emergency health plan, in which the ministry mobilized all its human and technical resources and deployed its medical and health staff across various sites, reaffirming its full commitment to providing proper health conditions and safeguarding the well-being of participants during the mass gatherings.
The ministry described these efforts as part of its humanitarian and national duty, reflecting devotion and reverence for the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, whose message illuminated humanity's path from ignorance to guidance and mercy.
Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Nasser Al-Qaaoud, told Saba that the ministry's medical, health, and ambulance teams are at a high level of readiness, in coordination with the public and private health sectors and provincial health offices, to implement the health plan for the celebration.
He explained that specialized medical staff have been deployed to provide health services to the 'guests of the Messenger of God' in hospitals, field camps, and ambulances, with additional medical facilities set up at main entrances and intersections leading to the squares.
The deputy minister added that field hospitals and specialized medical camps have been established, staffed with diverse medical and technical teams, fully equipped to handle urgent needs. Ambulances with trained crews are also stationed in the squares, along the access routes, and on highways between provinces.
He emphasized the ministry's commitment to providing high-quality emergency and medical services, supported by an advanced system for referrals and critical care, ready to handle severe cases and life-threatening injuries requiring specialized intervention.
Dr. Al-Qaaoud called on attendees coming to celebrate the Prophet's birth to follow safety measures, respect traffic regulations, and avoid overcrowding, stressing that the health sector is deeply committed to protecting the well-being of the masses, in line with its responsibility toward the people.
According to a report issued by the ministry, received by Saba, a total of eight field hospitals have been prepared in cooperation with provincial offices, 48 Hospital, and the Military Hospital. These facilities are staffed with 320 health workers and 522 supervisors and coordinators, including three hospitals in the central square at Al-Sabeen Square with 180 medical staff, and one hospital in the women's square in Sana'a, staffed with 30 medical professionals and 24 supervisors.
Additionally, in partnership with the private sector, the ministry has prepared 96 medical camps staffed with 972 health and technical workers, including 15 camps with 120 staff at Al-Sabeen Square and seven camps with 110 staff in the women's square in the capital.
The report stated that 112 public hospitals and 184 private hospitals across the capital and provinces have been designated to receive and treat emergency cases, including 10 public hospitals and 84 private hospitals dedicated to the central square and the women's square in Sana'a.
To secure transportation and emergency response, 147 ambulances with 498 paramedics have been deployed across all squares, along with 224 ambulances and 581 paramedics along access routes. Specifically, 36 ambulances with 36 paramedics have been assigned to Al-Sabeen Square, while 56 ambulances with 112 paramedics are deployed along the roads leading to it.
In total, the ministry reported that 7,320 health personnel from the public and private sectors are participating in medical services across the celebration squares in Sana'a and the provinces.
Through these preparations and dedicated efforts, the Ministry of Public Health and Population is fulfilling its humanitarian mission and responsibility with faith and commitment, ensuring a safe and healthy environment befitting the greatness of the Prophet's birthday, an occasion that embodies mercy, compassion, and light.
