Sa'ada: The Public Prosecution and security services in Sa'ada Governorate have destroyed 27 tons, 789 kilograms, and 560 grams of hashish resin seized during the year 1447 AH. This operation resulted from 613 seizures within the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the destruction was witnessed by key judicial figures including Judge Suleiman Al-Shumairi, head of the governorate's Court of Appeals, and Judge Ibrahim Jahiz, head of the Appeals Prosecution. Judge Jahiz noted that the hashish originated from occupied territories and was intended for Saudi Arabia. He praised the Ministry of Interior along with the security and anti-narcotics agencies for their efforts in seizing the hashish and urged citizens to report suspicious activities that may threaten national security.
The event coincides with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The Public Prosecution, in collaboration with security agencies, plans to destroy 26,057,000 capsules of the narcotic pregabalin tomorrow. The head of the Public Prosecution emphasized that combating drug-related crimes is a national responsibility and reaffirmed the commitment to apprehend those who perpetuate drug proliferation to protect the youth and the country's future.
Among the attendees at the destruction process were Deputy Director General of Anti-Narcotics Colonel Abdul Salam Al-Murtada, Deputy Prosecutor of the Criminal Court Judge Sharaf Al-Habashi, Deputy Director of Anti-Narcotics Colonel Ali Hamid Al-Din, Assistant Director of Anti-Narcotics Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Seteen, Director of Criminal Investigations Colonel Mohammed Wahhas, Director of Forensic Evidence Colonel Tariq Al-Qahm, and several anti-narcotics officers.
