Ibb: Government offices and tax authorities in Ibb governorate held a speech and cultural event to commemorate Ashura and the martyrdom of Imam Hussein under the slogan, "Far from Us Is Humiliation."
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was organized by the governorate's Tax Office, Culture Office, Finance Office, and the executive units responsible for qat sales tax and real estate tax. Speaking at the event, Ibb Tax Office Director Moeen al-Shulaif described Imam Hussein as a symbol of sacrifice, courage, and devotion, saying his life and uprising against injustice continue to offer lessons for the Muslim community. He noted that the commemoration of Ashura is significant in Islamic history due to its association with resistance to tyranny.
Al-Shulaif also addressed the challenges facing Yemen and called for broad participation in Houthi leader Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi's call to raise preparedness, expand public mobilization, and support efforts aimed at reclaiming rights and ending the conflict and blockade.
Abdulhakim Moqbel, the governorate's cultural sector official, stated that Yemen's observance of the occasion reflects loyalty to Imam Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. He emphasized the importance of drawing lessons from Imam Hussein's martyrdom to strengthen resilience in the face of aggression and hostile plots.
The director of the Finance Office remarked that the anniversary provides an opportunity to strengthen religious values and Yemen's faith-based identity. He urged the implementation of principles associated with Imam Hussein's revolution through development efforts and service to society.
