Taiz: Shawqi Maghles, Director of the General Authority for Zakat Office in Taiz Governorate, inspected today the progress of training and rehabilitation programs for participants in an economic empowerment course at the Namaa Cotton Production Factory, funded by the Authority.
According to Yemen News Agency, Maghles listened to an explanation from the training manager, Labib al-Ariqi, regarding the month-long training program for 65 women from impoverished families registered on the Zakat lists. The program aims to train them in producing various types of cotton underwear.
Al-Ariqi explained that the goal of the course is to empower women economically and replace imported products with locally made products by focusing on raw materials, design, packaging, and overall workmanship.
During the visit, the Director of the Zakat Authority Office praised the trainees' eagerness to acquire the necessary knowledge and technical skills within the framework of the economic empowerment projects and programs implemented by the Authority. He urged participants to take advantage of the team of trainers and to utilize the course time to acquire technical and professional skills and abilities in this field.
