Sana'a: Nahdat Fikr Foundation for Exhibitions and Conferences organized the third national conference for speakers with disabilities, 'Qaderoon 3,' under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Yemen Telecom, and Yemen Mobile.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the event, Executive Director of the Disability Care Fund Dr. Ali Maghli stressed the importance of highlighting the lives and achievements of persons with disabilities, extending congratulations on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. He noted that people with disabilities, who represent around 15% of Yemen's population, require greater support from government, civil society, and the private sector, particularly given the limited resources available to meet their needs.
Dr. Maghli emphasized that the Fund remains open to all persons with disabilities seeking available services and praised the conference for showcasing inspiring stories of determination and talent. Foundation Chairman Harith Mohieddin expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Disability Care Fund, Yemen Telecom, and Yemen Mobile, describing the conference as an opportunity to share success stories and promote broader inclusion.
The conference featured presentations by young men and women with disabilities who shared their personal journeys, challenges, and achievements in education, family life, sports, and social participation. Speakers highlighted obstacles within educational and social environments and how they overcame them through perseverance and community support, including participation in international events and competitions.
A medical exhibition offering free services for persons with disabilities across several specialties was also held on the sidelines of the event.
