Sana'a: The National Authority for Human Rights, affiliated with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, strongly condemned the brutal Israeli airstrikes launched this afternoon on densely populated residential neighborhoods in the capital Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Authority stated that the attack constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, international human rights law, and all international conventions and norms. It described the strikes as further proof of the Israeli entity's terrorist nature, backed by its global sponsor, the United States.
The Authority stressed that deliberately targeting unarmed civilians and terrorizing the population reflects the absence of any humanity or moral restraint. It added that the aggression comes as part of repeated, desperate attempts to pressure Yemen into abandoning its legitimate, moral, and legal support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement in Gaza.
The Authority affirmed that Yemen's stance is the one international bodies such as the UN Security Council and Human Rights Council should have taken to ensure respect for the rules of war and the protection of civilians in Palestine, particularly in Gaza.
It further warned that ongoing international silence makes the world complicit in these crimes, granting Israel a green light for further atrocities against both the Yemeni and Palestinian people.
Holding the UN General Assembly, Security Council, Human Rights Council, and the international community fully responsible, the Authority said these attacks amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity. It called for urgent action to stop the aggression and hold perpetrators accountable.
The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to defending human dignity and peoples' right to resist and liberate themselves, vowing to continue documenting and reporting on crimes committed by the U.S.-British-Israeli coalition and its Saudi and Emirati partners. It stressed that the ongoing assaults will not deter Yemen from pursuing war criminals in international and national courts, emphasizing that such crimes are not subject to any statute of limitations.
