Sana’a: The National Human Rights Commission strongly condemned the brutal war crime in which the Israeli-American aggression targeted children in the Islamic Republic of Iran, carrying out a terrorist strike on a girls’ elementary school in the ‘Minab’ area of Hormozgan Province, southern Iran.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Commission described the aggressive act as a heinous crime that resulted in the martyrdom of 53 girls and injuries to more than 52 students at the elementary school. The statement expressed severe condemnation of the criminal act, highlighting its violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. The Commission urged all international organizations, human rights activists, civil society organizations, and child rights advocates to denounce what they termed as a war crime and an act of genocide.
The Commission called for global action, urging people worldwide to pressure the United Nations Security Council and the Human Rights Council to establish an independent and impartial international investigation committee to uncover the facts. The organization demanded that the war criminals within the American and Israeli regimes be referred to international justice to face fair punishment for their alleged crimes against children and civilian facilities.
Further, the Commission criticized the United Nations for its silence on the crimes committed by the Israeli-American regimes. They highlighted that this silence undermines the credibility of UN mechanisms, transforming them from entities meant to protect human rights into ones that seemingly protect criminals and legitimize further bloodshed by the aggressor states.
