Hodeida: Hodeida branch of the National Union of Associations for Persons with Disabilities held a celebratory event on Monday to mark the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the event, Province undersecretary for Services Mohammed Halisi emphasized that commemorating the Prophet's birthday reflects Yemenis' deep attachment to the Prophet and their commitment to recalling his noble biography and the values of compassion, solidarity, and benevolence it embodies. Halisi highlighted the responsibility of caring for persons with disabilities and addressing their rights and needs, rooted in the values brought by the Prophet. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts by government and community institutions and specialized associations to provide care, rehabilitation, education, and empowerment for this group.
Halisi praised the efforts of associations and centers providing care and rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities in the governorate, acknowledging their educational and rehabilitation programs and other services that help develop their capabilities and strengthen their participation in society. He affirmed the local authority's support for activities and initiatives aimed at improving the services provided to them.
For his part, Chairman of the National Union of Associations for Persons with Disabilities branch in the governorate, Ziyad Jaabali, affirmed the union's commitment to commemorating the Prophet's birthday as an opportunity to recall the Prophetic approach to caring for vulnerable groups and promoting compassion, solidarity, and social cohesion.
Jaabali stated that the union, its associations, and affiliated centers continue their efforts to serve persons with disabilities through educational, rehabilitation, and social programs and activities. They are working to improve the quality of services provided to them, enhance their capabilities, and create greater opportunities for participation and contribution. Jaabali also emphasized the importance of partnership among government institutions, the union, associations, and specialized centers to help meet the needs of persons with disabilities, support their families, and strengthen their participation in various areas of life.
The event featured various cultural and chanting performances highlighting the significance of the occasion.
