Obbad and Al Bukhayti Assess Agricultural Projects at Sana’a University

Sana'a: The Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Obbad, and the President of Sana'a University, Dr. Mohammed Al Bukhayti, today reviewed the nature of agricultural activities and development works carried out on the university campus.

According to Yemen News Agency, Abbad and Al Bukhayti, accompanied by Deputy Mayors Mazen Noman and Dr. Qanaf Al Marani, and Assistant Deputy Naji Al Qawsi, inspected the afforestation efforts and agricultural land reclamation at the university. The campus has been cultivated with fruitful crops and fruits through self-financing initiatives.

The university president provided an explanation of the agricultural projects aimed at increasing green spaces. This includes planting over 2,200 seedlings of various fruits and trees, alongside expanding preparations for about 2,500 coffee seedlings. These efforts are intended to enhance practical learning for students of the Faculty of Agriculture and contribute to sustainable development.

The officials also explored the development works at the Faculty of Engineering, noting the modern equipment in classrooms and laboratories. These upgrades are part of the university's strategy to improve academic infrastructure to align with local and regional labor market demands.

Dr. Hammoud Obbad commended the advancements at Sana'a University, acknowledging the leadership's focus on agricultural and educational activities that benefit students. He reiterated the Capital Secretariat's commitment to fostering cooperation with the university, supporting its agricultural and developmental projects to boost agricultural awareness, sustainable development, and self-sufficiency.
