Sanaa: The people of the southern and eastern provinces are enduring extremely challenging conditions as security, economic, and humanitarian situations continue to deteriorate under the Saudi-Emirati occupation and its policies.
According to Yemen News Agency, the economic decline, severe collapse of essential services, and worsening electricity outages in the occupied regions underscore the failure of the Saudi-Emirati occupation to improve economic and living conditions. This has exacerbated the suffering of citizens in these provinces, reaching a perilous stage with no signs of improvement.
The ongoing conflict among the Saudi-Emirati coalition over strategic sites has exposed their ulterior motives, rendering their promises of bettering the situation unfulfilled. The coalition’s exploitation of the wealth and resources from southern and eastern governorates has fueled public discontent, leading to widespread protests against intervention and service deterioration. Citizens are also struggling with the
economic decline, marked by rising prices and a depreciating local currency, now exceeding 2,300 riyals against the dollar.
This unrest is the result of a systematic policy by the Saudi-Emirati occupiers aimed at crippling service institutions and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. The continued protests in Aden and other occupied areas against the so-called legitimate government highlight the occupation’s failure to address the humanitarian crisis, reflecting the severe consequences of ten years of occupation.
The competing interests of Saudi and Emirati forces and their destructive projects have become evident, reinforcing the belief among local populations about the gravity of Riyadh and Abu Dhabi’s ambitions. The ongoing tension and widespread protests suggest that the Saudi-Emirati occupation’s presence is temporary and that liberation is an inevitable necessity for the Yemeni people across all regions.
