Hodeida: Officials in Hodeida, led by Abdulqader Yaghnum, Director of the General Authority for Environment's local branch, conducted a field visit to the districts of Hays and Al-Khawkhah to evaluate environmental impacts and develop a comprehensive work plan for future initiatives.
According to Yemen News Agency, the team, which included a specialized environmental technical group, met with key figures such as Hodeida undersecretaries Ahmed Al-Bishri and Mohammed Halisi, Hays district director Marwan Halisi, and Al-Khawkhah district director Amjad Al-Umaisi, along with other relevant department heads. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration for environmental preservation and coordinating efforts to protect natural resources.
During the meeting, officials reviewed existing information and data regarding the environmental conditions and necessities of the districts. They also prioritized environmental work for the upcoming period. The field visits allowed the team to gather essential data and assess the environmental impact directly, which will facilitate the identification of key environmental priorities for Hays and Al-Khawkhah.
Abdulqader Yaghnum stated that this initiative aligns with the Authority's commitment to reinforcing field environmental activities and evaluating on-site conditions. The goal is to prepare a comprehensive environmental plan, detailing priorities, programs, and required interventions in accordance with existing policies. He emphasized the importance of integrating efforts from local authorities and agencies to protect the environment, preserve natural resources, and raise public awareness, encouraging community participation in safeguarding the governorate's environmental assets.
