Dhamar: Official and tribal efforts succeeded on Saturday in resolving a 16-year-old murder case between cousins from the Al-Ladha family in Hurur village, Isbil area, Mifa'a Ans District, Dhamar Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, during a tribal reconciliation led by Supreme Political Council Adviser Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maqdashi, Member of Parliament Najeeb Al-Warqi, and Mifa'a Ans District Director Abdullah Al-Jarashi, the victim's heirs, Yusuf Abbad Al-Ladha, pardoned the perpetrator, Jazam Ali Al-Ladha, for the sake of Allah, bringing the long-running case to an end.
The victim's father, Abbad Al-Ladha, expressed appreciation for the efforts to resolve the case, saying the pardon came in response to mediation efforts led by Al-Maqdashi and a number of social figures, which helped pave the way for a settlement and end years of resentment and tension between the cousins.
Al-Maqdashi commended the victim's family for their decision to forgive and turn the page on years of pain, saying the move would strengthen family and social ties, contributing to security, stability, and social peace.
He said resolving murder and revenge cases reflects the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership to strengthen social cohesion, family ties, and unity in confronting external challenges.
Al-Maqdashi called on other tribes to follow such initiatives and work toward resolving murder and revenge cases while promoting social cohesion, security, and peace.
He noted that ending the case, which had burdened local residents for years, coincided with the victories achieved by the armed forces on the western coast as part of the military operation 'Allah Is Stronger in Might and More Severe in Punishment,' which resulted in the clearing of areas along the western coast of Saudi enemy military build-ups.
Al-Maqdashi stressed the importance of maintaining unity, enhancing security, stability, and public tranquility, and confronting any conspiracies or projects aimed at undermining the victories, continuing to support the fronts with personnel and aid convoys.
