Jeddah: The Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has unveiled its new official website as part of its digital transformation initiative. This development was announced during the opening of the 27th Ordinary Session, held virtually from 19 to 21 July 2026.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent figures including His Excellency Mr. Mashhad Mohammed Omar Ahmed, Minister of Human Rights of the Republic of Yemen; Her Excellency Dr. Raghad Zeidan, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor of the Syrian Arab Republic; and other key officials and members of the Authority. Executive Director Dr. Hadi bin Ali Al-Yami expressed gratitude to the Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies and his team for their cooperation and support in the website's development.
Dr. Al-Yami highlighted that the website is a significant milestone in the OIC's broader digital transformation program, aimed at modernizing institutional tools, enhancing transparency, and improving communications with member states, partners, researchers, and the public. The new platform is designed to provide timely access to the Authority's activities, decisions, reports, and other statements, thereby increasing its impact on both regional and international levels.
His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami praised the Commission's efforts in launching the new website, emphasizing its role in strengthening digital presence and institutional communication. He reiterated the Union's dedication to supporting OIC institutions in modernizing their digital systems, following a resolution by the fifty-first session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC.
The launch of the website is part of the Commission's ongoing institutional reform program, focused on utilizing digital technologies to enhance efficiency, improve public engagement, and solidify its role as an independent human rights entity serving the OIC member states.
