Ibb: The Yemen Petroleum Company, the Public Electricity Corporation, private generator owners, and the Yemen Gas Company in Ibb governorate held a speech event on Tuesday to commemorate Ashura, marking the martyrdom of Imam Hussein ibn Ali. The event was conducted under the theme 'Far From Us Is Humiliation.'
According to Yemen News Agency, Abdulfattah Ghallab highlighted the significance of remembering the occasion and taking inspiration from Imam Hussein's courage, sacrifice, and moral example. He discussed Imam Hussein's upbringing with his grandfather, the Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing the faith, guidance, purity, and bravery he inherited. Ghallab also reviewed the events of the Battle of Karbala and commented on the fate of those who opposed Islam, underlining the importance of learning from Karbala to confront injustice and oppression.
The event saw the presence of notable figures including Ali al-Mawshaki, Ahmed al-Masani, Abdulhakim Muqbil, and Akram al-Zurqah. In his remarks, Majd Abu Dhibah stated that Imam Hussein was a symbol for all believers, transcending sects or denominations. He noted that the descendants of the Ansar continue to follow the path and values associated with Imam Hussein.
The commemoration also featured poetry recitations by Jamil al-Kamil and Abdulsalam al-Jawfi, attended by officials, employees, and staff from participating organizations. Following the ceremony, Abdulfattah Ghallab and other attendees visited the 36th Art Exhibition organized by the Culture Office of Ibb governorate in collaboration with the Amas Foundation for Artistic Production and Distribution.
Visitors explored the exhibition's sections and received insights from Abdulhakim Muqbil regarding its objectives and artistic content. The exhibition displayed works by local visual artists, addressing national and regional issues through painting and other artistic expressions.
