Sana'a: The "Open Shooting Championship for Women and Girls" (Rifle and Pistol) was inaugurated on Saturday at Balqis Club Hall in Sana'a. Organized by the School Sports Federation in coordination with the Shooting Federation, the four-day event features 60 participants in the women's and girls' categories. According to Yemen News Agency, Undersecretary of Sports Ali Hadban highlighted the importance of such activities in developing talents and encouraging girls' participation in sports. Secretary-General of the School Sports Federation, Oma Al-Salam Al-Faqih, said the championship is part of the federation's programs promoting diverse competitions while honoring martyrs and supporting the Palestinian cause. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and funded by the Youth Welfare Fund under the slogan, 'Our Martyrs Are Our Glory. Together on the Path to Jerusalem.' Attendees included Muhammad Al-Ansi, Deputy Director of Federations, and Yahya Al-Awami of the School Sports Federation. Unde rsecretary Abdullah Al-Razhi noted that the championship strengthens women's sports, builds youth awareness, and fosters national and regional solidarity.
