Sanaa: Asian stock indices rose during trading today, Thursday, with the Korean Kospi index recovering from sharp losses, supported by a wave of buying at lower prices and positive signals from Wall Street. Shares of some of the largest Korean companies rose, including Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Hyundai Motor, as they increased by rates ranging between 11 percent and 13 percent, to compensate part of their recent losses. According to Yemen News Agency, the Korean Kospi index was the best performer in Asia, as it jumped by about 12 percent, recovering from two days of sharp losses. Chinese stocks also rose after Beijing set a slightly weaker target for economic growth in 2026, but pledged to continue supporting the economy through financial stimulus packages. The CSI 300 index of leading mainland shares rose by 1.3 percent, the Shanghai Composite index also rose by 0.8 percent, while the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong increased by about 1 percent. In Singapore, the Straits Times index rose by 0.7 perce nt, while the Indian Nifty 50 index increased by 0.4 percent during morning trading.
