Islamabad: Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Hussain Andarabi affirmed his country's commitment to developing the joint gas pipeline project with Iran, emphasizing that Islamabad's support for Tehran and the nuclear agreement is a matter of principle.
According to Yemen News Agency, in his weekly press conference held Thursday in Islamabad, Andarabi commented on the Iranian president's stance following the threatening statements issued by the US president and the Israeli prime minister. He stated, "Our position in discussing issues related to Iran and the nuclear agreement is a matter of principle, and we firmly support this country."
Andarabi further added that Pakistan "strongly supported the Islamic Republic of Iran and its right to defend itself" during the Israeli aggression against Iran.
Regarding the gas pipeline project from Iran to Pakistan, the spokesman clarified that Islamabad remains committed to the project, expressing his country's hope for tangible progress in this regard.
