Zurich: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir held discussions with the Iranian negotiating delegation led by Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in Switzerland. The meeting aimed to address the United States' adherence to its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting in Zurich concentrated on overseeing and advocating for the execution of US obligations, particularly the initial clause focused on ceasing hostilities on all fronts. The discussions underscored the importance of international cooperation in ensuring the fulfillment of these commitments.
The Iranian delegation present at the meeting comprised of several high-ranking officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council for International Affairs Ali Bagheri. Other notable members were Central Bank Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati, Deputy Oil Minister and Head of the National Iranian Oil Company Hamid Pourd, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, and Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei. The talks highlighted the collaborative efforts between Pakistan and Iran in engaging with the US on critical international agreements.
